Clifton, Ohio Real Estate

Clifton is tiny — 131 residents across a sliver of land straddling the Clark and Greene county line — but
it’s built around one of the most recognizable landmarks in the region. Clifton Mill and its
covered bridge, framed by the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve and the Little Miami River,
draw serious holiday tourism every winter for the mill’s Christmas light display.
A village of a handful of streets
Platted in 1840, Clifton has never grown much beyond its original footprint — just 80 housing units as of
the last full count. The 1893 Clifton Opera House is another genuine piece of the village’s
history. Notable past residents include Funk & Wagnalls co-founder Isaac K. Funk and legendary Ohio State
football coach Woody Hayes.
Who it fits
This is not a market with regular turnover — it’s a handful of homes in one of the most scenic settings in
the region. Buyers here are choosing the gorge and the mill, not commute times or subdivisions.
Something in Clifton doesn’t come up often. Worth telling me directly if this is
where you want to be — I’ll watch for it.
